Live-in Home Care

 
 

Medical Staff

Our nursing staff provides round-the-clock care, closely monitoring the health and welfare of every individual. Our doctor visits regularly and provides routine exams as well as attending to residents that may be ill. Our psychiatrist makes regular visits to provide the special attention that our residents may need.

 
 

Clinical Staff

Meadows provides an in-house social worker and psychologist along with physical, speech, and occupational therapy that are supervised by Licensed Professional Therapists.

Programs to Promote Independence

In an effort to ensure that each of our residents is given the opportunity to achieve maximum independence, Meadows allows residents to have appropriate levels of responsibility in their activities of daily living (ADLs).

 
 

Self-Care

Residents are encouraged to complete self-care ADLs independently. Assessments are given to each resident to determine the appropriate level of independence. Some residents may complete a few ADLs while others are fully independent. Some tasks of self-care independence include:

  • Promote health and safety

  • Preserve wholeness of character and integrity

  • Continue personal and professional growth

  • Maintain competence

  • Grooming

  • Dressing

  • Bathing

  • Shower skills

  • Oral care

 
 

Managing Household Affairs

Residents are encouraged to take responsibility in the management of their household affairs. Again, assessments are completed to determine appropriate level of independence. Residents may be independent in tasks such as:

  • Doing laundry

  • Preparing meals

  • Doing housework

  • Managing household finances

  • Shopping

  • Taking medications

  • Managing transportation

  • Using the telephone

 
 

Academics

Residents will be assessed to determine their independence with daily academic living. Additionally there is opportunity for attending local college courses. Some tasks of daily academic living include the following:

  • Banking program

  • Money program

  • Lunch program

  • Location skills

  • Time skills

  • Writing skills

  • Reading skills

  • Local college courses

Activities

 
 

In-House Activities

Meadows residents have the option to participate in many different in-house activities. These daily offered activities include:

  • Arts and crafts

  • Life skill building

  • Exercise

  • Games

  • Movie night

  • Themed parties

 
 

Day Program

Our residents attend day programs daily utilizing their various skills. Many residents also have the opportunity to participate in community based jobs these include:

  • Culvers

  • Mcdonalds

  • UPS

  • Item assembly

  • Piece meal packing

  • Prep cook

 
 

Special Olympics

Meadows Residents are able to participate in the Special Olympics as well as many programs offered through NWSRA these include:

  • Timed race

  • Shot-put

  • Basketball

  • Tennis ball throw

  • Bowling

  • Badminton
